Fancy Nails!! - Neutral Nails
Deborah Lippmann - Fashion
Deborah Lippmann - Boom Boom Pow
OPI - RapiDry TopCoat
On Monday I went to the CFDA Awards. I wore a bright orange dress so I wanted to keep my nails pretty neutral and minimal.
1. Apply two coats of Fashion and allow to dry.
2. Apply Boom Boom Pow to the base of the nail bed, close to the cuticle. Use the brush to drag the polish up the nail bed slightly so most of the gold glitter is still concentrated at the base of the nail. This polish only extends about half way up the nail.
3. Apply OPI top coat.

Crystal Stickers by Mark Richards - Rhinestones
1. Apply two coats of I’m Not Innocent to the nails and allow to dry.
2. Using the tip of a bobby pin and white polish make spot on the nails of various sizes. You will be able to control how big or small the spots are by how hard or light you press with the bobby pin.
3. Apply a rhinestone to a spot on each of the nails. I did two rhinestones on my thumb nails and middle finger.
4. Apply OPI top coat

Matesse Elite - Mint Ice Cream
Deborah Lippmann - My Old Flame
OPI - RapiDry TopCoat
Crystal Stickers by Mark Richards - Stars
1. Apply two coats of Mint Ice Cream, while using a tissue to wipe off the polish on the top part of the nail.
2. Apply two coats of My Old Flame leaving the moons exposed.
3. Apply OPI top coat, sticking a star rhinestone in each nail as you go.
NOTE: Try using paper hole reinforcers to block off the moons if you are having trouble doing it free hand. Just make sure the first polish is completely dry before you do this. Practice doing it free hand though. I wasn’t good at it at first either, but now I find it easier than using hole reinforcers.

Deborah Lippmann - Don’t Tell Mama
Deborah Lippmann - Boom Boom Pow
OPI - RapiDry Top Coat
This didn’t come out exactly as I’d hoped. Don’t Tell Mama is actually a very dark teal color, but when I put Boom Boom Pow over it, it just looked black. For next time I know Don’t Tell Mama shouldn’t be worn with anything over it!
1. Paint all the nails with two coats of Deborah Lippmann Don’t Tell Mama, leaving the moons exposed. If you have a very steady hand go for it free hand but if not try using scotch tape as a template. Cut the tape so it has a dome shape on one end and stick to the nail covering the nail bed by the cuticle.
2. Allow to dry completely and remove the tape carefully so the moons are exposed.
3. Apply Deborah Lippmann Boom Boom Pow over the painted part of the nail. (not over the exposed moons.)
4. Apply OPI RapiDry TopCoat over the entire nail.
5. Apply OPI RapiDry TopCoat to the entire nail.

Deborah Lippmann - I Love The Nightlife
OPI - RapiDry Top Coat
I had big plans of doing something radically different with my nails today, but who am I kidding, that I Love The Nightlife polish is so good, I had to use it again. So basically I did the same thing as last week, but with black polish. I love Deborah Lippmann glitter polishes because they look totally different depending on what color you use as a base coat.
1. Paint all the nails with two coats of Matesse Elite Black
2. Apply Deborah Lippmann I Love Nightlife to the base of the nail bad, loading it up with a lot of glitter. Using the edge of the brush lightly drag the polish/glitter up the nails.
3. Allow to dry
4. Apply OPI RapiDry TopCoat to the entire nail.

Deborah Lippmann - Boom Boom Pow
1. Paint all the nails with two coats of OPI Suze Take The Wheel, except the rings fingers on each hand.
2. Paint the ring fingers with 2 coats of Mattese Elite Always On Top.
3. Apply Deborah Lippmann Boom Boom Pow to the top edge of the nails and then use the edge of the brush to lightly drag the polish down the nail bed, about 55% of the way down.
4. Wait a few minutes of that to dry, then apply more Boom Boom Pow to the top edge of the nails, without dragging down.
5. Apply OPI RapiDry TopCoat to the entire nail.
The Daily Face - September 26, 2011 - The Emmys
under eyes/face: Make Up For Ever HD Concealer in 325
eyeliner: MAC Blacktrack
eyeshadow: MAC in Tempting
eye brows: Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes pencil in Taupe
eye lashes: Lancome Hypnose Drama
cheeks: MAC Highlighter in Pearl, MAC Blush in Harmony
lips: NARS Lip Liner in Jungle Red, NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Red Square, NARS Lipstick in Heat Wave
Last weekend I went to the Emmys, here is a rundown of my look! First I used concealer on my under eyes and also any areas of the face where there are imperfections or redness. Those areas are usually around the nose and chin. I normally don’t wear anything on my face, but for a fancy affair like this I thought it appropriate to wear a little extra makeup. I did spend money on a new dress and shoes after all, so naturally I had to step up my game.
I was totally inspired by the red lip I saw at the Joy Cioci show during Fashion Week, so I knew I wanted to keep my eyes less dramatic so I could rock those lips. I lined the eyes with Blacktrack, making a cat eye swoop and filling in the upper and lower inner rims. Next, I applied the MAC Highlighter to the inner corners of the lid, bringing it out slightly on the lower lid. I then applied a light sweep of shadow from liner to crease, diffusing of course so there are no hard lines. I also filled in my brows so they have a strong arch. Since I’m blind and had to wear my glasses I didn’t want my brows to get lost behind them.
Next I applied a good amount of MAC Highlighter to the cheekbones, blending up toward the temple. You can never have too much shimmer when you’re going to a black tie affair. (That’s a lie, you definitely can. You don’t want to look like you just stepped out of Studio 54.) I applied blush underneath the cheekbones blending upward onto the apples of the cheeks.
Last I applied the lips. Follow THIS for how I did them.
I brought false lashes with me, but then I forgot to bring eyelash glue. Seriously?
This is how I did my nails: Mattese Elite Nail Polish in Black, painted so the moons of the nails are left open. Deborah Lippmann in Boom Boom Pow over the entire nail.
My dress is by BCBG Max Azria, so are my shoes, which you can’t see, but I assure you they are awesome.
