I’ve been interested in experimenting with different colored eyeliners recently and I love this red one from Make Up For Ever. Red seems like a weird choice for eye liner, since most people don’t want to look like under slept junkies, but it works as a bold liquid liner. Also, by coupling it with bold brows you will achieve a defined look, instead of it looking like you might have allergies.
First I filled in my brows with black pencil. I did this lightly and with small strokes so it doesn’t look like product has been smeared or painted on my brows. For black, it should look fairly natural. Next I lined the inner rim of my top lid with Blacktrack. This will define the actual eye so it doesn’t get lost in the red liner. Then I made heavy, winged liner with the red from the inner to the outer corner of the eyes. Of course this liner can be as thick or thin as you choose, but I decided to go thick. I have pretty big eyes so it works on me, but if your eyes are smaller you might want to make the liner a little less heavy. Figure out what works on your own face.
Next, I used a lot of the MAC highlighter on my cheek bones and brow bone, blending it into the skin lightly, but leaving the shimmer very visible. I applied blush heavily underneath my cheek bones. Last, but not least I applied coats and coats of mascara.
